INMEX CHINA 2024 (the 11th Guangzhou International Maritime Exhibition ) was successfully held from November 27 to 29, 2024 in Guangzhou, China. As one of the most important maritime events in Asia during even-numbered years, this year's exhibition was organized by the China Shipbuilding Industry Association and the China Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, attracting over 300 companies from more than 10 countries and regions around the world.
The exhibition showcased cutting-edge technologies and innovative achievements in shipbuilding, marine engineering, green shipping, and other fields, providing an essential platform for global maritime green development and technological transformation. AKA Robotics launched its new flagship product WallHiker W-2025, a UHP Blasting Magnetic Crawler Robot. This globally pioneering intelligent all-curved-surface adaptive ship hull surface preparation robot became the highlight of the exhibition due to its outstanding technology innovation.
The WallHiker W-2025 is a new benchmark product developed by AKA Robotics research and development team based on years of technical accumulation. New Magnetic Robotics breakthroughs enhanced all aspects performance such as surface adaptability, operation safety, and intelligent operation and maintenance, redefining the new height of green ship repair intelligent equipment.
The new design significantly enhances operation safety, effectively avoiding the risk of machine drops caused by dry dock collisions or unven surface conditions.
Through the coordination of the multi-degree of-freedom fuselage platform and the new magnetic adsorption cell module, the robot can adapt to more than 98% of the curved surface of the ship hull. The minimum curvature radius is 0.5 meters (circumferential curvature), which meets the needs of various complex conditions
In response to the problems of welding seams, pits and accidental collisions, the structure optimization greatly improves the safety and continuity of operation and ensures the stable operation of the robot in complex environments.
Compared to the previous generation, the body weight has been reduced by 15%, and the volume has been reduced by 25%, significantly optimizing deployment convenience and meeting the needs of various application scenarios.
Through a self-developed mobile app, users can monitor the devices status in real-time, arrange the equipment efficiently for multi-project, quickly diagnose faults, achieving efficient remote management and maintenance, reducing maintenance time and costs.
On the launch day, we are honored to invite leaders and guests from the China Shipbuilding Industry Association, the Naval Equipment Department of the PLA stationed in the Guangzhou area, the China Shipbuilding Industry Association Ship Repair Branch, the Guangdong Shipbuilding Industry Association, the Guangzhou Port Authority, and the Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, and joined us to witness the official lauch of the WallHiker W-2025.
At the unveiling ceremony, Li Jiu Hua, General Manager of AKA Robotics, stated: "The WallHiker W-2025 is a groundbreaking product we have introduced to the green ship repair market. It not only fills the technological gap in all-curved-surface adaptive ship hull blasting and washing but also provides a new solution to promote the intelligent process of green ship repair." At the press conference, Xingzhi Xing Robotics also signed cooperation agreements with multiple domestic and international partners, further deepening technical cooperation in the field of shipbuilding and repair, and jointly promoting the intelligent and green development of the industry.
During the Green Ship Repair Forum held in the exhibition, Li Jiu Hua delivered a keynote speech titled "Green Intelligence, Driving the Future: WallHiker Robots Lead High-Quality Development in the Ship Repair Industry." He pointed out: "Green and intelligence are the core paths for the transformation and upgrading of the shipbuilding industry. AKA Robotics will start with the WallHiker W-2025 and continue to explore more advanced technologies to create greater value for our customers."
INMEX China 2024 showcased the innovative strength and global influence of China's maritime industry. The launch of the AKA Robotics WallHiker W-2025 not only injected new vitality into the shipbuilding and repair industry but also set a new benchmark for special robotics development.
